From Reluctance to Representation

Eric Mason

Please watch this video from the Reform & Resurge 2006 Session 10 with Eric Mason, pastor of Epiphany Fellowship Church in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, as he talks about, "From Reluctance to Representation." Eric Mason gives us a great current cultural perspective as we preach the gospel today by looking at the icons that have affected our view on values today. The focus of cultural study is looking at the ripples of the hip-hop generation. Using Haggai chapter two Eric Mason reveals our purpose for missional living in our land. As ministers we have to stop dividing over form of ministry but concentrate on the function of the ministry as being faithful in expressing the gospel. Likewise if we have a proper view of God's perspective it should challenge us in purpose as well as shape our purpose. This involves us repenting on how we believe the Kingdom is to come and embrace God's plan of the Kingdom, thus truly able to represent God in all areas of our life.

Gravity: The Weight of Pastoring and the Knowledge of Christ

Matt Chandler

Acts 29 Pastor - Dallas, Texas

Watch one of the youngest and most gifted teachers in the US today, Matt Chandler. He is pastor of The Village Church in Highland Village Texas, and he will be preaching on, "Gravity: The Weight of Pastoring and the Knowledge of Christ" in session 9 from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Matt Chandler will take us through 2 Corinthians 4 and the book of Matthew in this video. Do not think that just because you feel the gravity of pastoring that Jesus Christ does not know what you are going through. Matt shows us that Jesus has experienced gravity in all aspects of his life just as much as you may experience gravity in many areas of your life. For example wanting more for the people of God then they would even desire for themselves. Jesus has been there and knows more than we can imagine about the gravity of ministry. We cannot avoid Jesus as we pastor but must press into him for the salvation of our lives as we don't gain identity through pastoring but in Jesus. We appreciate these sober words from Matt Chandler.

Doing Justice

Timothy Keller

Pastor - Redeemer Presbyterian Church

In session 8 with our keynote speaker Dr. Tim Keller, senior pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York, New York and founder of Redeemer Church Planting Center, preaches on, "Doing Justice" his last session of three from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. The audio that you are about to listen to from Dr. Keller will challenge your view of the comprehensive work of the gospel. Four questions are fleshed out in this session. First, what is justice according to the Bible? Second, what is doing justice according to the Bible? Thirdly, who should be doing justice? Lastly, how can you be one of the people that does justice? These questions and a walk through the book of Proverbs will develop a biblically faithful approach to justice. The Biblical view of justice is counter to that of what we see in Western society. This mp3 from Dr. Tim Keller will stretch and hopefully encourage you to do justice not out of guilt but out of joy. Through faithfulness in doing justice the culture will begin to notice and hear the gospel that you preach.

Preaching the Gospel

Timothy Keller

Pastor - Redeemer Presbyterian Church

Dr. Tim Keller, senior pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York, New York and founder of Redeemer Church Planting Center, speaks on, "Preaching the Gospel" in his second of three sessions (session 7) from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Watch this video from Dr. Keller as he gives some insightful comments on preaching the gospel today. What is discovered is that the older evangelicals know how to preach the gospel of sovereign grace in salvation and the younger evangelicals preach the gospel of salvation as a means for a new heavens and new earth. Dr. Keller notes that there are not many movements today that combine these two ways to preach the gospel as both the building of God's Kingdom through people being redeemed by the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross. What needs to be realized is that every theme and/or thread points to Jesus. This also includes the building of the Kingdom of God and personal salvation. More importantly Dr. Keller gives great advice at preaching the gospel in getting to the roots of idolatry and selfishness rather than just the slap on the hand for doing wrong. Preaching the gospel in a manner that glorifies Jesus rather than us is key aspect for the church today and this video from Tim Keller should push the church in that direction.

Being the Church in our Culture

Timothy Keller

Pastor - Redeemer Presbyterian Church

Our keynote speaker of the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006 was Dr. Tim Keller, senior pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York, New York and founder of Redeemer Church Planting Center. Please watch the session 6 video, the first of three talks by Dr. Keller on, "Being the Church in our Culture." In this session Dr. Keller challenges believers to understand the division in church as it relates to the culture that we are in today. Walk along with Tim Keller in the six facets of how to be a church that reaches the culture. First, more Christians living long-term in cities; second, with a better understanding of the gospel; third, living as dynamic counter-cultures in the city; fourth, integrating their faith and their work; fifth, radically committed to the good of the city as a whole; and sixth, contextualizing the gospel message. His stress lies in the fact that we must do all stated facets of ministry because they are all required by the gospel. They are not optional, and they are inter-dependent. Holistic ministry, in which Christians work sacrificially for the common good, is the necessary context for any convincing evangelistic call to believe in Jesus. This video of Dr. Keller's session should give a solid foundation for all that are on mission with Jesus. (Important Notice: The notes that were provided at the conference that Dr.
