Eric Mason is finishing his doctorate focusing on reaching hip-hop generations and cultures. He's planting Epiphany Fellowship in urban Philly and is a rare combination of spooky-smart theologian and ultra-hip urban manly man. His wife Yvette is a gem too and they have become dear friends of mine. Helping them plant is Duce a.k.a. "The Ambassador" who was recently nominated for a Grammy in rap and may be the only decent rapper with a theology degree (he has a ThM). These guys are the real deal and are doing missional church outside of the typical white suburban formula of lighting candles and finger painting while griping about megachurches. Eric was featured in our recent iTunes vodcast, and a couple of Duce's raps will be available on the site in a few weeks; including a cool bit about the Puritans and Spurgeon, which should effectively confuse everyone.
