Death by Love: Reflections on the Cross

Mark Driscoll

Video from Session 11 is our last session from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Watch Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church, president of Acts 29 Network and founder of Resurgence, as he preaches on, "Death by Love: Reflections on the Cross." Revisiting who Jesus and the cross is, deserves more attention today than most people would like to think. Over time Christians arguably could begin losing sight of the cross, what it meant and what it means for us today. Mark Driscoll brings us back to the fundamental aspects of the cross and the practical implications of a proper view of the cross in this day.

First, what is justice according to the Bible? Second, what is doing justice according to the Bible? Thirdly, who should be doing justice? Lastly, how can you be one of the people that does justice? These questions and a walk through the book of Proverbs will develop a biblically faithful approach to justice.

Preaching the Gospel

Timothy Keller

Dr. Tim Keller, senior pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York, New York and founder of Redeemer Church Planting Center, speaks on, "Preaching the Gospel" in his second of three sessions (session 7) from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Watch this video from Dr. Keller as he gives some insightful comments on preaching the gospel today. What is discovered is that the older evangelicals know how to preach the gospel of sovereign grace in salvation and the younger evangelicals preach the gospel of salvation as a means for a new heavens and new earth. Dr. Keller notes that there are not many movements today that combine these two ways to preach the gospel as both the building of God's Kingdom through people being redeemed by the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Humble Orthodoxy

Joshua Harris

Watch the video of Session 5 with Joshua Harris, senior pastor at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg Maryland, titled: "Humble Orthodoxy." Joshua Harris digs into the text of 2 Timothy 2 in this video from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Whose approval are you living for? And what do you have to do to get it? These questions are the questions that Joshua Harris presses for answers to those who are on mission for Jesus. He quickly points out by asking these types of questions one could be building the wrong foundation in which one should operate. Joshua Harris then leads us into building the proper foundation on which we are to live.
